Submit a Program Proposal

The Theme of the 2018 OWHE Annual Conference is UNLOCK YOUR POTENTIAL

The Conference will be in Sunriver, OR, this year on Thursday, January 25th and Friday, January 26th

OWHE Members truly help create an exceptional learning environment at the OWHE Conference every year. We welcome you to be part of this experience! Please consider sharing your knowledge and experience with the OWHE community by submitting a program proposal. 

Please complete this form to submit a program proposal for the 2018 Conference. Completed submissions will be reviewed by the OWHE Director of Education and the Conference Program Selection Committee. 

The Selection Committee will use the following rubric to review and rate all proposals:

  1. RELEVANCE: Content aligns with OWHE's vision, mission, and values, the conference theme & session category.
  2. OUTCOMES: Stated outcomes are clear and provide participants with specific takeaways.
  3. SCOPE: The scope and level of the proposal topic is broad and appropriate for the audience.
  4. FORMAT: Session format utilizes various elements and methods of engagement.

In an effort to provide relevant and quality programming for our conference attendees, selected programs may enter a review process in which the presenter(s) will be given notes and feedback (if applicable) from our selection committee and time to review, revise, and improve their program.

All programs will be 60 minutes long and must align with at least one of the following categories:

  • Meaningful Community: Building communities throughout our work, both in person and through virtual platforms. 
  • Personal Growth: Seeking ways to focus on the individual for positive growth, mindset, and change. 
  • Professional Development & Advancement: Moving forward as a professional in higher education through research, leadership roles, and continued education. 
  • Systemic Change & Empowerment: Focusing on advocacy and ways to influence policy to support the intersectional identities of all members of our institutions. 

Deadline to submit a proposal: August 31, 2017

Program Review will take in place in September 2017. 

Notification to Applicants will be on October 2, 2017.
